RE: Beware of Mike Thompson's RV

I was thinking the same thing. Where did this come from? Well for a progress report i took the trailer in for service and they promised they would take care of it. My service advisor said taht he would take it to the owner and i should recieve the check by the time the trailer was ready. Well that came and went and then no check in the mail. Called and the service advisor forgot who i was and never called back. Long story short. It is a learning experence and I obviously will not be refering to MT. $140 extra in their pocket. They might need it. Learned lesson: if it isnt paid out when you sign the docs they are lying to you. Raptor 3216 is a great trailer nothing to complain about the product just the dealer.

RE: Beware of Mike Thompson's RV

So just an update... I recieved the remote from Mike Thompson's yesterday, well more it came from Keystone since I spoke to the Keystone rep about not getting the remote from the dealer. And Mike Thompson's sent me a $5 check for some DMV taxes they over charged for. Looks like they are trying to get the deal right. Amazing that it takes more than 2 months to take care of 200 bucks. (still waiting on the $140 check)

And yes if anybody is looking the Raptor is a great rig. Would recommend it to anybody that is looking for a 5th wheel toy hauler. Happy trails.

RE: Beware of Mike Thompson's RV

Computerbug if you read into the current post I do not have a perfect rig. If you take note on previous post I have problems with my slide and water valves, and I know those are covered under warranty, and I will take these to a different dealer to get them handled. I am not sitting on this site to moan and complain about getting the worst experience, because I know it could be even worse and more promises could be ignored. I am merely trying to get the word out that I had a bad post experience with Mike Thompson's and that is anybody takes anything away from this is don't "trust" the sales person with the follow up. I am here to merely speak about my experience knowing that the $200 for the gas and remote is gone. Wait a min. You got a perfect rv the 1st time out and you are complaining about a tank of gas and a remote that could be program to your present tv? You have way too much time on your hands. And for the remote part the 08 Raptor uses an Alpine DVD player that is attached to an Olivia TV. I looked at all the Best Buys and all of the Radio Shacks for a universal remote that handles both components. I had no luck and after 2 months and 2 trips out I needed to buy a $60 remote to control the DVD player. And this is not my first experence or first rig. I had a 26' Ragen trailer before that I picked up from Simi RV and they did a great job taking care of me the first time, on time, everytime. I out grew and tried to keep up the "Jones" and went bigger. Too bad Simi RV didn't carry the Raptor or I would have gone back. In all honesty I almost spent more for a Ragen with a worse floor plan to keep my business with Mike at Simi RV. Mike Thompson's didn't go the distance for me. Sorry for the long reply.

RE: Beware of Mike Thompson's RV

I would appreciate any feedback that Mike Thompson's has for me. How Merric could explain ignoring my calls and how Jeff Bailey would explain not returning my calls would be impressive and informative. And how it takes any company as big as MT to cut a check for 200 bucks for a trailer that cost over 50 grand would blow my mind. If you are "protecting" me from MT form responding please don’t worry about me. Please let them explain so everybody that has read this forum can see how they do their business. And just a follow up it is now the 4th and there has been no delivery of that check. Thank you all again.

RE: Beware of Mike Thompson's RV

I completely understand what you are getting at and I would be leery too. The fact of the matter is I have already posted this same blog at powerstrokedesiel.com where I normally post but since this is a RV inspired site I thought you... The consumer should know what I have been dealing with for 2 months. At this point the $200 is lost and I don't care about it. I now take my RV to Spires RV to get it serviced and I love the place. So far so good. But as they say it takes years to build reputation and only moments to lose it. I wish I had read a blog about not shopping at Mike Thompson's before buying there so Spires could have made the money on the purchase and therefore treated me more kindly in the future. Now I have burnt that bridge with Mike Thompson’s and will never work to get it back. Now really think about what I just said and think of all your experiences dealing with RV's. If I really wanted too burn Mike Thompson's wouldn't I say something to the effect of my RV fell off the back of my Truck? Or they promised 500 bucks or a thousand. These people only stuck me for $200 out of my pocket and I just want everybody to know… If you want to make sure you get what you are promised. Make sure you leave with it. Don’t let the sales person say yeah next week end then next week. Until Merric stopped picking up my calls I believed him to be an amazing sales person. Again thanks for your time.

RE: Beware of Mike Thompson's RV

Well those are only the problems taht are easy to fix. I have a misaligned slide, a gray tank valve that leaks cracked fenders from one trip out a chipped gen door and a fat scratch on the fiberglass. These things get taken care of through warranty. people ditching calls after you buy the product talks volumes about how people do business. Just My 2 cents.

Beware of Mike Thompson's RV

Hello all, this is my first post on this forum and I felt it was obligation to tell you about an ongoing issue with Mike Thompson’s RV in La Mirada CA. I apologize for the length of the post but here is the story. So I was in the market for a new 5th wheel toy hauler and came to like the floor plan of the 3612 Raptor made by Keystone, and Mike Thompson’s was the closest dealer. After signing the paperwork on October 28th, they shipped the Raptor from a local lot. I was to take delivery November 1st at 4pm from their local location in La Mirada California. Part of the deal was to take delivery with a full tank of gas in the trailer and to fill up the tow vehicle. Well, since the trailer was not ready to leave the lot until after 9:30pm, it was agreed upon that I would submit the receipts and get a reimbursement. I sent over the receipts on November 5th and verified the fax was received. I spoke to my salesperson Merric Robinson every Monday from November 5th until now about the related issues and until recently, he has blamed everybody including the finance department and his boss, on the check not getting cut. He is now ignoring and not returning my calls. On December 21st I contacted Merric’s direct Supervisor, Robert Chavez the Sales Manger of the Trailer Dept, and he assured me that the check would be shipped out that day and should arrive prior to the New Year and here it is the 2nd and still no check. Another issue arose when I took the rig out on November 9th for the first time; the remote that was included for the DVD player was the wrong remote. I brought this up to Merric’s attention on November 12th and asked that he look into getting me a new remote. It has been more than a month and a couple of trips out and so I bought the alpine remote that should have come with the rig. This was another issue I brought up to him every week when we spoke. When he started ignoring my calls I called another Sales Manager Jeff Bailey on Thursday December 27th and still have not received a call back. I have been in Retail Customer Service for the past 10 years and in Management for the past 2 years. There are really only 2 things that make customer service work; under promise and over deliver. And keep your customers in the loop. These were 2 simple issues that could have been resolved in one call for just a few bucks. I no longer am looking for compensation for these problems; I hope everybody that reads this thinks twice before buying a RV or trailer from Mike Thompson’s. This post will be posted at superdutydiesel.com oilburners.com if you want to check out those forums also. Thank you for your time. Please leave comments.
